NASEO is dedicated to providing State Energy Officials with resources to assist them in their energy emergency preparedness and response duties. Many of these responsibilities have foundations in emergency management, generally. This page houses a number of recommended online training programs categorized by topic. Please note that many of the courses listed are provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Independent Study (IS) Program, which offers self-paced courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities, including state Emergency Support Function #12—Energy (ESF 12) responders. FEMA requires a Student ID (SID) to participate in these free, online courses. You may register for one here.
