On October 16, 2023, the Oregon Department of Energy hosted an Energy Security Plan Statewide Stakeholder Kickoff webinar. In response to the State Energy Security Plan requirements set forth by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Oregon Senate Bill 1567, the Oregon Department of Energy submitted a draft Energy Security Plan to the U.S. Department of Energy in September 2023 and is now embarking on a yearlong planning and outreach effort to engage all Oregonians as part of the development of the 2024 Oregon Energy Security Plan. Through a series of virtual and hybrid meetings the Oregon Department of Energy will encourage public and private partners to weigh in with feedback, relevant data, and stories to inform future iteration of their State Energy Security Plan. The hybrid event included attendees from the Oregon Public Utility Commission, Oregon Department of Emergency Management, U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (DOE CESER), Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), and industry partners. The webinar recording can be accessed here and more information on the stakeholder engagement efforts can be found here.
